Chapter 2

An Age-Old Hatred

When the devil is cast out from heaven, his wrath will be poured out on the Church—but not just any portion of the church:

"And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth."

Revelation 12:13-16

Many have said the woman represents Israel - whom God describes many times as his wife. The child, under that interpretation, would represent the Church during the age of the Gentiles. When the Gentile Church (which you and I are a part of) is whisked away to heaven, Israel - the Israel that is by faith - will go into hiding in the wilderness.

So the woman is the Jewish Post-Rapture Church!

But the Bible says that when the devil comes to attack her, HE CANNOT DO HER ANY HARM!

Though he tries for three and a half years, he is thwarted in his attempts; there is nothing he can do to kill the physical descendants of Abraham who have become servants of Jesus!

Indeed, in the next verse, it says this:

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Revelation 12:17

This passage tells us that the Church hiding in the wilderness will not be the only Christians on earth at this time. After the dragon is unable to get the woman, he, in a rage, goes out to make war on "the rest of her seed"; and then the Bible tells us that those people are the Christians who believe in Jesus and keep the commandments of God.

And the Bible says his war against them will be successful:

"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:"

Revelation 13:7

Partner, those who have come to Jesus after the Rapture and are outside the community in the wilderness with the Jewish Church, will be overcome by the devil in his wrath.

These Christians will suffer at the hands of the enemy, and their cries will reach to heaven. But they will suffer the enemy's wrath and his frustration at being unable to destroy Israel after all these years of trying!

When Israel was first born, the devil began to try to destroy it. Many have theorized that he did that because Israel contained the lineage of the Messiah.

But once the Messiah had come and fulfilled His purpose, the devil did not stop.
